The candidates who are interested can register themselves for the university’s Ph.D. in the university’s official portal.
The admissions procedure for JMI Ph.D. programs for the academic year 2022–2023 will begin on November 22 at Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI). On the designated date, the university will publish the prerequisites for applications and deadlines for admission on its official website. Anyone interested in applying for a Ph.D. at JMI in 2022–2023 can do so online until December 22.
The deadline for submitting fees for new enrollments in all undergraduate and graduate certificate and diploma programs provided by the JMI Center for Distance and Online Education for the academic year 2022–2023 was additionally extended by the university. Candidates have until November 22, 2022, to submit their fees.
Step 1: As the first step you will be required to visit the official portal of Jamia Millia University
Step 2: Open the Ph.D. admissions link.
Step 3. Register by providing your name, email address, and other information.
Step 4: After registering, complete the application by providing your information and submitting the required papers.
Step 5: Double-check, save and send
Step 6: Pay the fees and save the program to your computer for later use.
Candidates should be aware that only those who passed their qualifying exams by 2021–2022 or earlier are eligible to apply for the JMI Ph.D. programs.
Except for language departments, which may arrange the question paper in the relevant language, the language of the entrance test shall be English. Sections A and B of two sets of question papers will be used for the entrance test.
Section A: This section will assess the candidate's aptitude for teaching and research, as well as their language, writing, and analytical skills and understanding of current issues that are pertinent to both research and higher education.
Section B: The advanced understanding of the subject in question and the specialization within the subject will be covered in Section B.
Candidates in the following categories will not be required to take the entrance exam for the Ph.D. program:
(i) Applicants who have passed the UGC/CSIR (JRF) Examination, the SLET, the GATE, or the M. Phil. program from a college or other organization with accreditation.
(ii) The holders of teacher fellowships, provided that the competent employing authority grants the candidate a No Objection Certificate to enroll in the doctoral program and an assurance that the candidate would be granted leave for the period of the necessary course work.
A JMI notice states that candidates for Ph.D. admission in the academic year 2022–2023 must have passed their qualifying examination (after graduation) on or before the start of that year's classes. Candidates must also read the program specifications, eligibility requirements, registration dates, and other important information before completing the online application form.
Political science, social work, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electronics and communication engineering, geography, computer science, mathematics, and professional development of Urdu medium instructors are just a few of the programs in which a Ph.D. program can be pursued. In due course, more information about the subject will be posted on the website.
JMI Ph.D. Eligibility Criteria is that A candidate for admission to the program for the degree of doctor of philosophy must have earned at least a Second Class Masters Degree with not less than 55% of the marks required by a university, or a Degree recognized by the university as its equivalent in the subject in which the candidate wishes to pursue a course of the research, or in a subject related to it.
