Introduction

Government College of Technology, Coimbatore better known as GCT, Coimbatore was established in the year 1945. Previously the college was known as Arthur Hope College of Technology. The Institute offers 9 full time under graduate courses, 4 part time under graduate courses, 11 full time post graduate courses, M.S (by research) and Doctoral Programmes. The courses are conducted by following 14 departments: Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics & Communication, Production, Electronics and Instrumentation, Computer Science, Information Technology, Industrial Biotechnology, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English and Physical Education. The Institute bagged the Best College award in the year 2010 from the State Government in the year 2010 followed by “Green Campus of the year” in 2013.
