According to the eligibility criteria for JELET, diploma holders in Engineering, Pharmacy, or Technology do not have any age restriction. Meanwhile, those with a B.Sc. degree are eligible up to the age of 27 years. The age limit for a Diploma in Marine Engineering is 25 years.

The Joint Entrance Examination for Lateral Entry (JELET) is organized to select students for entry into the second year or third semester of Bachelor's degree programs in fields such as Engineering, Technology, and Pharmacy. However, this does not include Architecture. The examination is applicable for both government and private colleges within West Bengal.
