IIM Ahmedabad Announced the Revised Eligibility Criteria for MBA Programs

News

Recently, IIM Ahmedabad has been announced a revised a formula for the calculating academic rating score for the 2022-24 batch of PGPM (Postgraduate Program in Management). The institute has decided the criteria to do away with Graduation’s degree component of shortlisting criteria as well as academic rating will be computed considering marks scored by the applicants in Class 10th and 12th board exams and also based on the work experience of the candidate.

Due to ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic situation, in past two years many universities couldn’t conduct exams and promoted students based on their alternative assessment criteria. The Common Admission Test Committee had allowed applicants to appear for this test without need to require a minimum percentage of marks in their previous degree exams.

As per the IIM Ahmedabad notice, the admissions committee of IIM Ahmedabad decided to do away with Graduation’s degree component from the shortlisting criteria and also to apply it uniformly to all applicants. Now the AR will be computed on the scale of 25 i.e. considering High School marks, Intermediate marks as well as applicant’s work experience and the points will also be pro-rated to 35.

Now IIM Ahmedabad will use the below formula for computing the Composite score:

CS= 0.35 * (pro-rated AR Score/35) + 0.65 * (normalized overall CAT Score)

Where the pro-rated AR Score is equal to (AR Score computed by taking 0 points for Graduation’s degree)/25)* 35
