Savitribai Phule Pune University administers the Maharashtra State Eligibility Test to select candidates for Assistant Professor positions in Maharashtra and Goa universities/colleges. The MH SET exam covers 32 subjects from the Arts, Commerce, Science, Management, Law, Mental, Moral, and Social Sciences, Education, and Physical Education faculties.
Highlights The State Common Entrance Test Cell, Government of Maharashtra, will shortly publish a notice of MH SET 2022 for students who desire to become Assistant Professors in Maharashtra and Goa universities/colleges. Applicants may apply for the MH SET 2022 notice by completing the MH SET 2022 application form with all necessary information. Savitribai Phule Pune University has issued the interim answer key for MH SET 2021 Paper 1 and Paper 2. The Maharashtra and Goa states held the MH SET test in offline format on September 26, 2021.

Eligibility Age Restriction:
The MH SET exam has no upper age limit. Educational Criteria:
Candidates who hold a UGC-recognized Master's degree or equivalent with at least 55% aggregate marks (without rounding off) are eligible for the MH SET 2021. The minimum post-graduation mark required for candidates from the SC/ST/PH/VH and OBC/SBC/DT/NT (non-creamy layer) categories is 50%.
Candidates with a postgraduate diploma/ certificate from an Indian university or a foreign diploma/ degree/ certificate from a foreign university should determine the equivalence of their degree/ diploma/ certificate with a master's degree from one of India's recognised universities. Candidates can obtain this information from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) in New Delhi.
Candidates who have completed or will complete their final year of post-graduate studies are also eligible to apply. Such candidates, however, will be admitted provisionally and will be awarded the certificate after passing their master's exams with the required percentage.

The MH SET exam is divided into two papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2, each with its own test structure. The MH SET Paper 1 is a general exam with objective type questions from the Research Aptitude and Teaching section. Paper 2, on the other hand, is divided into 32 subjects. All of the questions on both papers are mandatory. Candidates must appear in both papers to be considered for the position of Assistant Professor.
Paper 1 of the MH SET exam includes questions from the area on Teaching and Research Aptitude. The question paper will have a total of 50 mandatory MCQs worth 2 points each. Candidates will have one hour to complete the exam.
Teaching and Research Aptitude – 50 Questions worth 100 marks – 1 hour duration
The MH SET Paper 2 is divided of 32 subjects. Candidates must select the subject of Paper 2 based on their PG level subject when completing the MH SET application form. The Paper 2 question paper will include a total of 100 MCQs worth 2 points each.
Chosen Subject among 32 subjects – 100 questions worth 200 marks – 2 hour duration
Paper-I will be of a broad character, with the goal of assessing the candidate's teaching/research ability. It is primarily intended to assess the candidate's reasoning skills, understanding, divergent thinking, and general awareness.
The second paper will consist of one hundred objective type questions (except those pertaining to mathematical science) based on the candidate's topic of interest. Each question will be worth two points. A student must attempt all problems in Mathematical Science, either from Sections I & II or from Sections I & III exclusively. The OMR sheets containing questions from both parts, II and III, will be dismissed.
