Ph.D.	The candidate should have a bachelor's degree under the 10+2+4 or 10+2+3 or 10+1+4 system.

Scholarship

The institute provides government scholarships to economically weaker students. Indian Council of Agricultural Research has raised the scholarship amount for applicants who want to take admission into M.Sc and Ph.D. courses-

The fellowship amount for the M.Sc course has been raised from Rs. 25,000 per month to Rs. 28,000 per month for the first and second years. On the other hand, the amount for the third year has been raised to Rs. 35,000 per month from Rs. 31,000 per month.
The fellowship amount for the Ph.D. course has been raised to Rs. 49,000 per month along with HRA (for master's degree holders 54,000 per month + HRA (for Ph.D.). Earlier it was Rs. 38,000 per month + HRA (for master's degree holders) and Rs. 40,000 per month + HRA (for Ph.D).
