Assistant Commandants are recruited by the Indian Coast Guard through the Assistant Commandant Exam. Asst. Commandant General Duty (Male), Asst. Commandant General Duty (SSA, Women), Asst. Commandant Commercial Pilot License (CPL) (SSA) both Male and Female, Asst. Commandant (Engineering & Electrical) (Male), Asst. Commandant (Law) both Male and Female are among the positions available for recruitment.
The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) has published a notification for Assistant Commandant General Duty, Commercial Pilot License (SSA), and Technical Officer for the 02/2022 batch (Engineering & Electrical). Online applications will be accepted from December. The e-admit card will be accessible starting in December. Starting in early January, the preliminary selection will take place. Between early February and April, the final selection will be made. A list of accepted applicants based on the merit list will be made public in June/July. In June, the training program at INA, Ezhimala, will commence.

Stage – II Syllabus
This exam will be of objective type and it will include a Mental Ability Test/Cognitive Aptitude Test as well as a Picture Perception & Discussion Test (PP&DT). The aptitude exam will only be given in English. The following is the exam pattern for the Indian Coast Guard Asst Commandant:

There are two steps to the selection process: stage I and stage II.
Stage- I:
Shortlisting of Candidates: Candidates will be shortlisted for the preliminary exam or written test based on their bachelor's degree grades. For some branches, qualifying grades can exceed 60% if more applicants have higher percentages.
Preliminary examination or written examination: Candidates will take a preliminary examination in English to assess their cognitive aptitude / mental ability, as well as a picture perception and discussion test (PP & DT). Objective tests will be administered to candidates for the position of assistant commandant of the Indian Coast Guard.

Stage - II:
Final selection: Candidates will be summoned for final selection after passing the preliminary test. Candidates will be notified of the final selection date and location on the Indian Coast Guard's official website. The examination will consist of a psychological test, a group task, and an interview (personality test).
The final selection board will suggest applicants for a medical examination, which will be conducted at the closest Military Hospital in accordance with current norms governing Assistant Commandant recruiting. Note: In addition to the above-mentioned parameters, the medical standard test will include a comprehensive medical examination of the candidates.
Cut Off:
The official cut-off will be announced along with the results. Their cut-off marks help them calculate their chances of being selected for the final round of selection. Original cut off marks are based on four factors:
