What is the All India Bar Examination?
The All India Bar Examination (AIBE) is a national-level exam conducted by the Bar Council of India (BCI) in an offline mode. It's for law graduates who want to practice law in Indian courts, whether they've completed a 3-year LLB or a 5-year LLB program. When candidates pass the AIBE exam, they receive Certificates of Practice (COP), allowing them to practice law in Indian courts. Without this COP certificate, you can't practice law in India.
The AIBE exam takes place once a year, and the BCI has recently announced new exam centers. They've already issued COP certificates to those who passed AIBE XVI through the AIBESCOPE mobile app, and AIBE XVII COP certificates are expected to be released soon.
