Introduction

Abeda Inamdar Senior College is one of the institutions established and administered by the Maharashtra International Education Society (MCE Society). C.E. Society was founded in 1948 by the late Mr. Abdul Kadir Khan and like-minded educators to provide education to the economically, educationally, and socially disadvantaged sections of society. The C.E. Society is a registered education society under the Companies Registration Act 1860 and a public trust under the Bombay Public Trusts Act 1950. It is also registered under Section 12(a) of the Income Tax Act 1961, exempt from Bill 80G, the Pune Income Tax Commissioner has said.

Abeda Inamdar Senior College of Arts Science and Commerce, affiliated with Savitribai Phule Pune University, was established with the donation of Mrs. Abeda Inamdar. The college was established in 1991-92 with one division of B.Sc and B.Com. In 1992-93 the Faculty of Arts was added and in 1998 the B.Sc. Informatics. In 2001, Ing. Analytical Chemistry in 2002. The very next year, 2003, the school established Postgraduate Centers in English and Business. The college's expansion continued with the establishment of Postgraduate Centers in Microbiology and Mathematics in 2004; BBA (CA), M.Sc. Analytical Chemistry and Ph.D. Research Center in Chemistry in 2005; BBA and M.A. Sociology in 2006; M.A Urdu in 2010; Ph.D. Research Centers in Business and English in 2011 and MA in Economics and Political Science in 2014.

The growth of the college was visible not only in the increase in the number of courses but also in the strength of the students. The strength of the undergraduates grew rapidly; from 100 in 1991-92, in the year of establishment to 1,191 in 2000 to 4,685 in 2010 and 5,113 in the academic year 2016-17.

The College made its first appearance in the Savitribai Phule Pune University Merit List in the academic year 2004-05 with our student Miss Mifrah Abid winning the University Gold Medal for M.A English. Since then, there has been no looking back and every year a number of our students have appeared on the University Merit List. It is indeed a matter of pride that more than 50 of our students have appeared on the SPPU merit list during the last 10 academic years.

(Computer Science)/BCA classes respectively as per the University of Pune regulations.
  • To be eligible for admission to the Bachelor of Business Administration degree program, the candidate should have passed the 12th standard examination (H.S.C. 10+2) with a minimum of 45% marks in any stream with English as a passing subject for open category and 40% marks for reserved category as per of the University of Pune rules.

  • Applicants must hold a Bachelor of Science degree.
  • B.Com, BBA, BCA, BBM(IB) from a recognized University or
  • Bachelor of Arts with any subject from a recognized University or
  • Bachelor of Science with any subject from a recognized University or
  • Every eligible candidate must pass the Common Entrance Test conducted by the concerned college
